More pictures

So....these pics are random....some are in Italy, the one of the beach in from Cadiz, and the one with me in a wig is from Carnaval in Cadiz.  The camel picture and the scenery picture are from Morocco.

Roma y Florencia

Hola!
It's been a while since I've updated....internet at my house is quite rare....but I'll throw up a few shots from Rome and Florence.  I spent 5 nights in Rome and 3 in Florence for Spring break.  Rome is now my new favorite city, and if you look at the pictures I'm sure you will see why....
history, culture, art, museums...great food.  Que mas quieres?

Our hostel was very fun (but very cramped) and we met people from all over...Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Hungary, France, Germany....and of course...Italy.   The staff was great and it was fun to get to meet so many new people (and so many spanish-speaking people to practice with...)
I've traveled also to Morocco...I'll see if I can't load one of those pictures too.  It was an interesting experience.  You take a ferry for only 45 minutes and all of sudden you're in a place with a completely different culture and way of life.  Tangiers, Morocco was definitely shady but gave me a bit of insight into Muslim culture.
My favorite weekend trip so far has been to Ronda, a little white town in the hills.  Very tranquil and calm, Ronda boasts the oldest bull fighting ring in Spain (although now not used for fights).
I went to Lisboa, Portugal with the program in mid-February.  That was fun and different.  I would not recommend Lisboa for traveling...too dangerous, but the suburbs and smaller towns outside of Lisboa Sintra and Belem were great.
Anyways, I don't have too much travel planned for the next few weeks.   I need to focus on my studies and work on practicing my Spanish.  So enjoy the photos...provided they upload....
Hope everyone is doing well.

Best,
Emily

First Post

I'll be keeping this blog while I'm in Spain with the hope that family and friends will be able to keep track of me and stay in touch while I'm abroad.  I'll be leaving on Wednesday morning for Cadiz.  Right now I am working on packing and gathering up everything I think I might need for the next six months.  It's a little difficult--I am only bringing one suitcase.  We'll see how that goes.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone...hopefully getting back into school and work hasn't been too painful :)

I hope some of you will read this blog, and hopefully enjoy it!  I'll check back soon.

Best,
Emily
